Design at Coalesse is a continual creative response to the undeniable evolution of work: thanks to connected mobility, most workers take their work with them as they move through their day, and so work and life are overlapping like never before. At the same time, people need approachable workspaces in which to be social and collaborative, so they can build the relationships that help them to solve the complex problems that define modern work.
Our job as designers is to observe and ask a lot of questions. Where do people prefer to work if they can work where they want? What do meetings look like now? How do you create private space and open-ended gathering space in a busy corporate environment? What are workers trying to accomplish, and what are the tools they’re using? How can the outdoors and natural factors be brought to work? What does wellbeing mean in today’s workplace?
The answers to those questions inspire the vision of the Coalesse Design Group. Led by John Hamilton and now based in Steelcase’s Learning and Innovation Center (LINC) in Munich, Germany, the Coalesse Design Group has a global platform from which to explore the future of work and engage with other world-class designers. Applying expanded cultural and technological curiosity to our passion for design, our goal is to foster spaces that empower social connection, creative collaboration, personal focus and rejuvenation, for the rich, dynamic ecosystem of work.
At Coalesse, we make thoughtfully crafted furnishings that bring new life to work. Led by intuition, backed by research, and driven by design, the Coalesse Design Group guides our mastery in form, function and comfort, as we help create the destinations that make workplaces matter.
